Open Source Enterprise Content Management Solutions have become widely adopted with more organizations relying on offerings from Alfresco and Liferay to run their business-critical applications. Furthermore, the Drupal Web Content Management System has become a popular environment to run high-profile websites on.
But while the initial hype of 'open source for the sake of open source' has faded, the true value of open source has clearly shown it's face: innovation and marketplace dynamics.
Our keynote speaker - John Powell, CEO of Alfresco - will look into the impact of open source on the ECM marketplace.
Since its first release in 2005, Alfresco has rapidly evolved into a full-blown ECM platform. During the first product session, we will show how Alfresco supports the complete content lifecycle - ranging from pure collaboration to more ‘traditional’ content management and, finally, records management. In addition, we will have a look at the flexibility of Alfresco and its ability to truly offer content-as-a-service within your company.
After the break, we will examine the options Portal Software can offer for building highly flexible, secured and personalized intranets and extranets. Liferay Portal has become the de facto leader in the open source portal marketplace. This session will cover a customer case: the all new Intranet of the Province of Antwerp that was built with Liferay.
The last session will focus on Web Content Management (WCM). In this WCM space, the Acquia Drupal content management system has been widely adopted due to its rich set of functionalities and flexibility. The new version 7 also provides a nice list of enhancements that will make it even more attractive to enterprise customers.
