Introducing Alfresco 4 - Social Content Management

Since its foundation in 2005, Alfresco has rapidly developed itself into the leading open source Enterprise Content Management platform. Today Alfresco can pride itself on more than 2000 enterprise customers worldwide, around 200 employees and a flourishing partner community.

Alfresco's newest 4 release introduces numerous enhancements and exciting features many customers and prospects were looking forward to. In this seminar we will provide you with a deep dive into Alfresco 4 and show you how this release boasts dramatic improvements in performance, usability and collaboration tools.

You will get a thorough introduction to Alfresco 4’s main new features:

  • Improved usability
The Alfresco Share user interface has seen some important improvements and features. The major ones are the ability to drag-and-drop documents into and within Alfresco, previews for video and Apple iWork files, and the availability of geotagging for images. In addition, Alfresco Share has turned itself into a real social platform, allowing users to 'follow' colleagues and 'like' content items.
  • Social integration
The ‘social’ aspect also shows itself by the publishing options offered by Alfresco 4. Out-of-the-box content items can now be published to the major social sites (Twitter, Slideshare, Youtube, Facebook, Linkedin and Flickr). In addition, the underlying publishing mechanism also provides all necessary tools for publishing to other targets such as your company’s intranet or website.
  • Mobile access
As the use of tablets and smartphones is exploding, users need access to their content via these new mobile devices. Alfresco offers a free iOS app (iPad, iPhone) and partners offer a range of Android apps.
  • Improved workflow management
Alfresco 4 comes with Activiti workflow engine, a fast and solid business process engine which natively supports the BPMN 2.0 standard.
  • More performant search
Next to Lucene, Alfresco now also provides the option of using Solr as the content indexing and search tool. The use of Solr has a big impact on performance and allows for more scalable architectures.
Apart from giving you the complete picture of Alfresco 4, we will also share our implementation experiences and give you advice on upgrading your existing Alfresco system to this new release.

This is a FREE seminar but the number of seats are limited.
