Document management has undergone some fundamental changes over the last couple of years. Until recently, document management supported primarily all formal workflows and processes, but today there’s a rapid evolution towards real collaboration features and web 2.0 – like functionalities.
The Amplexor consultancy team will set the scene by providing an overview of the business drivers for implementing document management and collaboration platforms: why should you do it in the first place and what best practices should you adopt?
The first product focused session will give you an overview of the latest Documentum platform. EMC Documentum is a long-time market leader: it has a very broad portfolio of enterprise content management products and an established user base.
The second session will focus on the new Microsoft Sharepoint 2010 platform which is described to become the “Business Collaboration Platform for the Enterprise and the Web". We will provide you with an overview of Sharepoint 2010 capabilities like Sites, Search, Insights, Communities, Content and Composites.
After the break, the open source Alfresco Share solution will be showcased by the IBBT (Interdisciplinair Instituut voor BreedbandTechnologie). During this session IBBT will explain why they chose Alfresco Share as a platform, they will provide an overview of the project and give a demo of the actual MyIBBT application, their project collaboration extranet.
The final part of the seminar will explain why many organisations are turning to modern imaging and scanning solutions. A solution like Kofax allows them to capture, transform and exchange critical business information, arising from paper, fax and electronic formats, and to automatically route this to your ECM platform, be it Alfresco, Sharepoint or Documentum.
