The Tessenderlo Group (TG) has about 34 subsidiaries around the world. Most of them have a corporate website which is maintained and hosted locally.
In 2008, the Tessenderlo Group decided to invest in a global WCM program to incorporate the group websites. As most of the sites are multi-country and multi-language, the decision to install a Tridion was taken.
As a first project, the corporate site www.tessenderlo.com was implemented via Tridion. This website was launched after 5 months of intensive collaboration together with TG. The base for all other websites was created (news, events, product catalogue, job center, search, global styling).
Tessenderlo Group recently launched a brand-new internal website known as The Wire using . This internal communication tool allows some 1000 senior and middle managers at the international group to stay in touch with each other. The group’s new communication platform is ambitious to say the least and was constructed using the Tridion web content management system. Authorised employees can log on to the innovative news portal from all over the world, from offices or from hotel rooms, for instance. In addition to supporting communication at management level, The Wire also supports the HR, IT, Legal, Finance and Communications Departments, as well as the Project Management Office. The platform can be used for sharing confidential and non-confidential information and documents, and the tool is also used to keep employees up-to-date on the group's global business news.
As there were some security issues, TG decided to host all Tridion servers into the TG network. The presentations servers are all hosted on Terremark. These servers run on Linux and the presentation pages are in J2EE. All content is stored in a MS SQL2005 database.
- Integrated stock quote: the TG site shows the TG stock quote in real time
- Forum: on the internal newsportal, Jformus was integrated as the website’s forum.
- Outbound Email: the Tridion Outbound email module was implemented for the internal newsportal and for Dyla.nl
